McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act
This program is to ensure that homeless children and youth have access to a free, appropriate public education, comparable to that provided to the children of any Arizona resident and consistent with Arizona’s mandatory school attendance laws. Determinations of eligibility under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act: The term, ‘Homeless children and youth’, means individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence;
Fixed- one that is stationary, permanent, and not subject to change
Regular- one which is used on a regular basis
Adequate- one that is sufficient for meeting both the physical and psychological needs typically met in home environments.

Automatic enrollment in a new school without proof of residency, immunizations, or previous records
Receive transportation to their school of origin
School shirts
Basic school supplies
Transportation to and from school of origin
Personal care items
Free meal program at school
